Get up off that couch

C’mon kiddo.  Put on your shoes.  No, not your boots. It’s not snowing yet.  Coat, yes, but maybe just a light jacket.  C’mon, you can do this.  You’re a grownup.  Netflix will still be there when you get home.  That frozen pizza’s not going anywhere either.  I hear they have live music at that little winery tonight and the band is really good and there’s no cover charge. Do I have to take that remote away from you? Let’s go.

As they like to say in the business consultation world (which we are most definitely not a part of) here is the value proposition:  A warm, cozy taproom with fun beverages, reasonably priced (at least by California standards) and some entertaining goings on.  A bonus—other friendly people around (at least we hope) and a distraction from life outside of the sparkly walls of the winery for an hour or two.

The admission fee?  $7, maybe $8.  For your glass of tasty, local cider.  Ok, $9, because you’re going to tip your bartender a dollar, or maybe two, because you’re Minnesotan.  Maybe you’ll have a couple of drinks, and even order a pizza.  And then maybe you’ll buy a round of root beer for your new friends.  In any case, you’re not even out $50, like you were the last time you went out to a generic fast casual restaurant and just got a couple of meh sandwiches with fries.  OMG.  Wait. You just had fun for cheap and you didn’t even realize it!

Yes, this could happen to you.  As soon as tonight.  The O’Keefe Brothers are playing (all original compositions in a bluegrass-folk-rockabilly style) and they’re fun to watch, and they’re local- so you might recognize one of the musicians because they were once married to your old co-worker’s niece.  Or not, but they sure do look familiar.  But it’ll only happen if you show up here.

Alright already.  What else is coming up on the schedule?

Next Thursday: Friends for Friendsgiving!

And speaking of which- we will be closed on November 28th, Thanksgiving Day.  We’ll be open on Friday the 29th, but for fewer hours on Saturday (4-9 PM) and closed on Sunday as we celebrate a family member’s 100th birthday.  We may open additional hours earlier in the week to make up for it, but that’ll be in the next newsletter.

Cheers,

Jeff and Gita Z.
